Traditions of the Poltava region: living paintings - an exhibition of Anna Senik's photographs

On July 10, at 12.00, on the second floor of the Nicolaus Copernicus University Library, an exhibition of Anna Senik's photographs will be presented. The exhibition titled: Traditions of the Poltava region: living paintings is a collection of portraits of Ukrainians in the costumes of the Poltava region - the cradle of Ukrainian culture. The photos used costumes from private collections, as well as from the collections of the Poltava Museum of Local Lore named after Vasyl Krychevskyi.

Anna Senik is the founder of the Ukrainian ethnophotography, the author of over 200 ethnic photo sessions devoted to traditional Ukrainian costumes, as well as military history, drawing on paintings, old photographs, folklore and folk traditions.

The curator of the exhibition is Yanina Barybina - candidate of economic sciences, associate professor of the Poltava University of Economics and Trade, public and political activist, philanthropist, and the initiator of presenting the exhibition in the Main Library of the Nicolaus Copernicus University - prof. Iryna Matiash – employee of the Social Life Documentation Section.
