Cell Art: Science and Art in Cell Imaging

Cell Art: Science and Art in Cell Imaging is the first exhibition of artistic impression presenting student final works of university-wide classes conducted by prof. Marta Lenartowska from the Department of Cellular and Molecular Biology of the Faculty of Biological and Veterinary Sciences of the Nicolaus Copernicus University in the academic year 2023/2024.

The exhibition presents images created on the basis of microscopic photos documenting the results of research of employees and students of the Department of Cellular and Molecular Biology at the NCU Faculty of Biology and Weterinary Sciences financed by the Excellence Initiative - Research University Program, the National Science Center and the Ministry of Science and Higher Education. The exhibition is under the Honorary Patronage of the Molecular Cell Biology Committee of the Polish Academy of Sciences.

The opening of the exhibition will take place on June 17 this year. at. 1:00 p.m. in the Nicolaus Copernicus University Library (main hall). During the vernissage, members of the Jury of the award for the best artistic vision award distinctions to the authors of the best works. It is worth adding that the photo promoting the exhibition was taken by Anna Richert, who conducts research as part of her doctoral thesis under the supervision of prof. Marta Lenartowska was among the 10 final photos, out of 100 submitted, in the microscopic photography Bio-Art Image Contest: "The beauty behind biological sciences", organized during the 48th FEBS Congress in Milan (29/06 - 3/07/2024).
