On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the founding of Nicolaus Copernicus University, a vernissage of paintings by Jacek Yerka, an artist connected with the city and our University, will be held on January 18, 2025 at 6 p.m. in the West Station Gallery of the Od Nowa University Centre for Culture and the Arts in Toruń. This acclaimed and internationally recognised surrealist painter presents his paintings extremely rarely, so this is a unique opportunity to see his work.
 
Anna Walkowska, curator of the exhibition, comments on the event: We have managed to collect not only the master's paintings, but also original posters of his from the early days of his artistic career and a number of artefacts related to the artist. This is a precedent on a worldwide scale. 
The exhibition will run until March 7. Jacek Yerka has announced his presence on the day of the vernissage and on 17 February 2025 at 4.30 pm at an author's meeting to celebrate the University.
 
After the event at Od Nova, a post-exhibition presentation of the painter's giclee will still be on display in the main lobby of the University Library until April 30, 2025.
